

Cara Yeates has performed three one woman plays across Canada, the US and in Mexico. Her award winning shows have received rave reviews and played to sold out houses.
Cara wrote and performed her first show 'Knee Deep in Muck' which premiered to a sold out house at the Edmonton Fringe in 2004. 'Knee Deep in Muck' toured on the Canadian Fringe Circuit in 2005, for it she won the Pick of the Fringe Award for Favourite Female Performer. A multimedia exploration of Canada’s tree planting culture, 'Knee Deep in Muck' featured as a part of the BUGS art show in Winnipeg.
'Bye Bye Bombay' was Cara’s second solo show. She spent a year traveling in India researching the piece. Bombay is a multimedia adventure to Bollywood and beyond. It was a hit of the Canadian Fringe Circuit in 2007 and had played in eleven cities across Canada. In 2008 'Bye Bye Bombay' was picked to be a part of the New York Fringe Festival, was presented by the Shelter Theatre in San Miguel D'allende and most recently was a performed as a part of the very first Hollywood Fringe.
Cara performed the premiere of Leah Bailly’s 'Some Reckless Abandon' which toured to California (LA, Fresno, Las Vegas), UNO Festival, and the National Series at Summerworks (Toronto). She just finished touring The Big Oops which was written by champion Slam poet Brendan McLeod and is being directed by Fringe legend TJ Dawe. The Big Oops premiered at the Vancouver East Cultural Center as a part of it's curator's in residency program. This past fall Cara was awarded the inaugural Joanna Maratta award for exhibiting the original founding spirit of the Vancouver Fringe Festival and showing the most potential to contribute to the Vancouver theatre community. Cara was also honored to play the part of Janine in the west coast premiere of the Dora Award winning play Scorched in Vancouver last January.
Cara has worked on a wide range of film and television projects. She's acted in a variety of independent Canadian productions and is currently hosting the show 'City Lights' on Novus T.V.. Cara spent some time in India working, a notable Bollywood experience was guest starring on the horror show, 'Shh...Phir Koi Hai', for Star Television.
Cara graduated from Dalhousie University with an honors degree in Acting. Her experiences working with Daniel MacIvor (You Are Here), One Yellow Rabbit (Summer Lab Intensive) have inspired and informed her creative process.
