When I first moved to New York, I was lucky enough to work with MoMA Film and the Film Society of Lincoln Center on New Directors/New Films. This festival continues to surprise and inspire me with it’s diverse programming.
This year I was so busy with shoots that I wasn’t able to see as many films as I would have liked, but I was struck by Alejandro Landes’ new film Monos. Alejandro’s first film Porfirio was in New Directors the first year that I worked the festival. One of my favorite things about this festival is discovering new talent in the world of independent cinema and watching their voices evolve.
